About DaSu Bonsai Studio
You can find everything for bonsai with secure online ordering for delivery to your door or call 515-769-2446 to schedule a visit. We are located on a beautiful 800 acre farm in central Iowa. I majored in horticulture and agriculture in college, have a deep interest in art and the philosophies of the East, so Bonsai was a natural choice. The studio has grown through the years to include pottery hand built in our pottery studio, imported items, a full supply of books and tools, bonsai display tables and slabs, viewing stones, companion plants, pre-bonsai, fossil fish art, classes, and workshops. Individuals, clubs or groups are encouraged to visit the Studio and arrange a workshop and/or experience a shopping delight.
Before you buy
- Check your area's zone on the USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map; plant tags list the coldest zone a plant survives.
- Ask whether plants were grown locally and what the nursery's guarantee covers.

I’ve visited Dasu Bonsai twice in 2025 and cannot wait to visit again this year. Dave is a bonsai master and there are so many amazing trees it’s almost overwhelming. Very straightforward guy with reasonable prices. Always be sure to call before driving out there to make sure he’s available. I would recommend Dasu to any and all bonsai enthusiasts!

My wife and I stopped by to pick up a few pre-bonsai and left with a bunch of trees and a cutter. Owner was very nice and knowledgeable. Prices were good. An appointment is needed. We loved his greenhouse. Can’t recommend enough. Solid business

Bought a tree from here a few weeks ago. Great variety of indoor and outdoor bonsai trees. Also super helpful and resourceful. Gave us great recommendations and tips for a newbie. I called him weeks after the purchase for more questions that I had and he was still super helpful and friendly.
